Inspiration

My dad just called to ask how my first day at work was.
I sort of shooed him off the phone.
What an asshole thing to do.
I think I just feel hurt and somewhat angry at him even after all these years. I don’t trust he will be good to me so I never let him in. It hurts.

I worked there for four years.
I don’t work there anymore.
Strangely enough, I didn’t even have the inkling to cry until my last lessons ever with Rob H., who told me he wouldn’t have kept playing unless I was there to keep his spirits up and be patient with him.
Almost lost it there.
Anyways, it’s over. The end of an era.

Cover band = look how well we can play.

Unraveling
Mysteries and questions have revealed themselves over time. They always have and they still are.
Things get clearer with the days passing. None of us are perfect - but we perfect ourselves through time, which provides us understanding.
I can rest easy knowing this.

Empathy
Our parents try to raise us despite the dysfunctions they inherited from their own parents. Dysfunctions so bad that sometimes they don’t recognize them.
They are good people.
They make mistakes and are learning.
I will be the same.
Gummy bears and Legos.
If I had 500 dollars when I was a child, I would have spent it all on gummy bears and Legos. I would probably have gotten sick and regretted it after some time.
In other words, I would not have done the wisest thing.
Our desires are like gummy bears and Legos: things we want that we think will make us feel good - but in actuality aren’t whats best for us.
